Spring into reading and more: March events at the Broken Bow Library

BROKEN BOW- As spring weather creeps closer, the Broken Bow Library is keeping the calendar busy in March with a great variety of events for all ages.

Throughout the month, visitors are encouraged to try their hand at the March scavenger hunt. Jungle pictures throughout the March newsletter are hidden in the library, along with secret letters. By spelling out the mystery sentence and bringing a completed sheet to the front desk, participants win a prize.

Early on in March, teen tech week is taking place. On Tuesday the 5th, teens are invited to make their own Harry Potter light up wands at the library. The very next day during teen advisory board, teens will try their luck with CUE Robots and an obstacle course. Then on Friday the 8th, a coding treasure hunt using Sphero Bots is the challenge.

Mid-month, the Broken Bow Library invites you to their pouch paint party March 19th, with money raised going toward maintenance of their GlowForge. Zip-up pouches can be painted to use as a coin purse, cosmetic bag, pencil case, or a gift bag.

The evening book club invites you to join their discussion of The Measure by Nikki Erlick at 6:30 PM on March 18th. The “Take a Break” book club will meet later in the month on the 26th regarding Tailspin by John Armbruster.

“Glow in the dark” and “Easter egg hunt” aren’t heard together often, but at the library they are on March 28th. You are invited to bring a basket and a flashlight for a story followed by a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt. Two groups, 0-4 years old and 5+ years old, will hunt at 4:00 and 7:00 PM respectively.

Favorites like chair yoga, Tots and Toys, lapsit story time, and homeschoolers explore STEAM continue throughout March.

Upcoming events for visitors to mark on calendars include Mom Prom on May 10, an author visit from John Armbruster on May 22, and new library hours starting in April. Monday through Thursday hours will be 9 AM to 7 PM, Friday doors will be unlocked from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday hours are 9 AM to 1 PM.
