The Custer County Board of Supervisors are scheduled to meet in special session on Wednesday afternoon starting at 3 PM. The meeting will take place in the Supervisors room on the top floor of the courthouse in Broken Bow.
Board of Equalization matters are on the agenda for the board, specifically tax list corrections and discussions and decisions on tax matters for damaged real property.
Property valuation protests and damaged real property were both discussed in Board of Equalization talks last Tuesday as well. That day, it was stated that over 80 property valuation protests had been heard, with 16% being granted a change in valuation to land, buildings, or both.
County Assessor Elise Taylor also said in last Tuesday’s meeting that a form 425 report of damaged property can be filed by owners of real property that became damaged on or after January 1 and before July 1. Reassessment of the property is allowed if damage is more than 20% of the assessed value.
Wednesday afternoon’s meeting is open to the public.
