Broken Bow Legion Juniors and Seniors Pick Up Wins Over Gothenburg

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams hosted Gothenburg for a doubleheader Thursday night at Paul Brown Field.  The Bow juniors improved to 11-0 by holding off Gothenburg 4-3.  Bow scored 2 runs in the third and 2 more in the 5th to take a 4-0 lead but Gothenburg came back with 3 runs in the sixth.  Eli Coble came on to pitch a scoreless 7th inning to pick up the save and preserve the win for Bow.  Coble also had a big night at the plate going 2 for 3 in the leadoff spot with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Caden Holm drove in two runs and Tallin Schauda had the other RBI for the Broken Bow offense.  Hagan Campbell was the winning pitcher throwing four scoreless innings to start the game.

The Bow seniors shutout Gothenburg 5-0 to improve to 8-6 on the season.  Carter Johnson threw six innings of scoreless baseball to pick up the win and Max Denson pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning in relief.  Broken Bow was productive with 2 out as Keifer Anderson produced with a 2 out 2 RBI double to get Bow on the board in the third and Broken Bow would score 2 of their 3 runs in the fourth with 2 out.  Max Denson help lead the offense finishing 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.  The Bow seniors have now won 7 of their last 8 after starting the season 1-5.

The Broken Bow seniors will face Albion tomorrow night then join the Bow juniors for a doubleheader on Sunday at Imperial.
