It was another strong season for the Southwest Conference in the sport of volleyball. The conference includes Broken Bow, Gothenburg, Minden, Holdrege, McCook, Cozad, and Ogallala. Three members (Minden, Ogallala, and Holdrege) qualified for a district final with Ogallala and Holdrege winning a district championship and qualifying for the state tournament. Holdrege and Ogallala would play each other four times this season. The two met for the Southwest Conference tournament championship with Ogallala winning the tournament title 3-1. They faced one another again at the state tournament in the state quarterfinals with Holdrege winning 3-1 as the Dusters advanced to the C1 state championship match and finished the season as the state runner up.
Ogallala placed three on the all-conference first team, Holdrege had two, while Minden and Gothenburg each had one representative. Broken Bow’s Olivia Neely was a second team all-conference selection. Neely led Broken Bow this season in kills (311) and blocks (83). Receiving honorable mention all-conference for Broken Bow were Halle Quinn and Izabelle Tibbs.
Erin Heath of Holdrege was recognized as the SWC coach of the year.
