High School Football Scores – Area Recap

Recapping area high school football scores from Friday night, the KBBN area game of the week featured a top ten matchup in six-man football as SEM hosted Stuart.  The game went back and forth through the first half.  SEM’s Braxton Line threw for three touchdowns and ran for one in the first half to help the Mustangs take a 28-26 lead at halftime.  After Stuart scored on their opening drive of the third quarter to take the lead, SEM answered back with a 42 yard touchdown pass from Braxton Line to Bode Martin to retake the lead 36-34.  But that would be the last time SEM would score as Stuart outscored the Mustangs 34-8 in the second half to pull away for a 60-36 win.

Broken Bow opened the season Friday by hosting Sidney at Mark Russell Field.  Sidney jumped out early scoring 22 points in the opening quarter.  The Indians started to put things together in the second quarter where they dominated the time of possession but were unable to put points on the board as Sidney led 22-0 at halftime.  Sidney added to the lead in the second half on a 17 yard touchdown run by Will Gilham.  Broken Bow kept fighting.  With less than two minutes to play, Broken Bow scored their first points of the season on a six yard touchdown run by Cobe Wells to make the final score Sidney 29 – Broken Bow 6.
