The Post 126 Juniors notched a win over the Lexington Juniors by a score of 15-0, improving to 3-0 on the young season.
Broken Bow tallied 8 runs in the first inning and never looked back in the decisive win. Drew Ellis was active in the batting box, leading the team with 3 RBI going 2-for-2. The offense stayed aggressive, stealing eight bases in the matchup.
Defensively, Caenyn Priest was excellent on the mound, striking out every batter he faced in the game’s four innings.
Broken Bow will be back in action as the Ord Juniors come to town on Thursday.
The Broken Bow Spirit 18U softball team hosted a triangular with the Junior Belles of North Platte and St. Paul, going 0-2 on the evening which dropped their record to 3-5 on the season.
In game one against the Belles, Broken Bow could only muster one hit to North Platte’s nine. The Belles put up crooked numbers in the first, second, and fourth innings to take the win 10 to 0 in the three and a half inning game.
Broken Bow played hard in game two against St. Paul despite the loss. After falling down by six, the Spirit had a hot second inning and took the lead in the bottom of the inning by plating 8 runs. St. Paul responded immediately though, scoring four more times in the third inning to Broken Bow’s zero.
Skylar Smith, Ida Bumgarner, and Alexis Pflaster had two hits each for Broken Bow. They each also had an RBI, joined by Ruby Russell, Lily Thornton, and Brielle Hamel-Evans who also had RBIs.
