Quincy McDonald of Ava, MO – Champion of Custer County Classic

The 23rd Custer County Classic Bullriding Event took place Monday night at Trotter Arena at the Custer County Fairgrounds. The bulls were tough to ride as 32 riders entered the event and only seven had a qualified ride in the opening go. Trevor Reiste of Lindon, IA was the leader after the long go with a score of 84.5. Connor Halverson of Gordon, NE was second after the long go with an 82.5 and Stran Smith of Landry, SD was third with an 82. Of the seven riders that entered the short go, there was only one that held on for an eight second ride. Quincy McDonald of Ava, MO was crowned the champion of the 2021 Custer County Classic. McDonald scored a 76 on his first ride then scored an 86, the best score of the night, on his second bull to secure the title.

The bulls will return to light up the Trotter Arena again tonight for the Freestyle Bullfighting Competition. Tonight’s event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
