The Broken Bow volleyball team placed fourth at the Adams Central volleyball invite on Saturday. The Lady Indians won their opening match against Superior 2-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-19). Bow then faced Centura in the semifinals. It was the second meeting in three days between the two teams as Broken Bow defeated Centura 2-1 at the Bow triangular on Sept. 22. The two would once again go all three sets but this time Centura came out on top 2-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-19). Broken Bow faced the host team Adams Central in the third place match with AC winning 2-0 (25-11, 25-15). Malcolm was the tournament champion defeating Centura in the championship match 2-0 (25-17, 25-19).
SEM claimed the title at the Ansley/Litchfield tournament on Saturday. The Lady Mustangs defeated North Central 2-0 (25-14, 25-23) in the first round and then got by Nebraska Christian in the semifinals 2-0 (25-22, 25-22). On the other side of the bracket, Ansley/Litchfield def. Mullen in the first round 2-0 (25-7, 25-16) and Burwell def. Hyannis 2-0 (25-15, 25-12). Burwell def. A/L in the semifinals 2-0 (25-21, 25-20). SEM edged Burwell in the championship match 2-1 (25-15, 25-27, 25-21). Ansley/Litchfield placed 4th falling to Nebraska Christian in the third place match 2-0 (25-23, 25-13) and Arcadia/Loup City advanced to through the consolation bracket to place fifth winning in the fifth place match over Mullen 2-0 (25-10, 25-10).
Twin Loup, Anselmo-Merna, and Sandhills/Thedford were among the area teams that competed at the Brady Eagle volleyball tournament Saturday. In the opening round, Wallace def. Maxwell 2-0 (25-13, 25-12), Sandhills/Thedford def. Brady 2-1 (26-24, 18-25, 25-22), Anselmo-Merna def. Sandhills Valley 2-0 (25-22, 25-22), and Twin Loup def. Cody Kilgore 2-0 (25-12, 25-13). In the semifinals, Wallace def. Sandhills/Thedford 2-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-16) and Twin Loup def. Anselmo-Merna 2-0 (25-20, 25-23). In the championship, Wallace def. Twin Loup 2-0 (25-15, 25-23). Anselmo-Merna def. Sandhills/Thedford in the third place match 2-1 (25-13, 17-25, 25-19).
