High School Basketball Scores 1/2

The Broken Bow girls basketball team stayed undefeated improving to 9-0 Saturday with a 57-40 win against Hershey. Bow trailed 31-30 in the third quarter but then got hot from long range hitting four straight three pointers which keyed a 27-9 run to close the game. Kya Scott led all scorers with 18 points. Kali Staples finished with 13 and Kailyn Scott had 11 to lead Broken Bow’s offense.

The Broken Bow boys fell 48-36 to Hershey on Saturday. Broken Bow trailed 25-17 at half but started the third quarter on a 7-0 run to pull to within a point but Hershey would respond with a 12-5 run to close out the quarter and was able to hold off Broken Bow in the fourth to improve to 7-1 on the season. Broken Bow drops to 4-4 overall. The Indians were led by Keegan Baxter who finished with a team high 10 points.

In games broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM Saturday, the SEM girls used a big second half to pull away from Sandhills Valley. SEM outscored Sandhills Valley 33-7 in the second half to collect a 54-29 win. SEM was able to outlast Sandhills Valley in the boys matchup winning 54-48. Ethan Nicholson of Sandhills Valley led all scorers with a game high 26 points.
