It will be another big high school football Friday around the area tonight. One of the top games in the area will take place in Ansley as the 4-1 Ansley/Litchfield Spartans host the 5-0 Sandhills/Thedford Knights. Both teams play in the D2-9 district and are undefeated in district play. After falling in their opener against Anselmo-Merna, A/L has not lost since. Head coach Kurt Kulhanek told KCNI/KBBN Sports that he has been very pleased with the way his team responded following their season opener.
Sandhills/Thedford is undefeated and ranked #2 in the state in Class D2 by the Omaha World Herald. Coach Josh Deines told Central Nebraska’s Sports Source this week that anytime you can be undefeated more than half way through the season it’s a special thing.
Tonight’s game between the Spartans and the Knights will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. The Consolidated Companies Friday Night Lights pregame show will air at 4 p.m. today to make room for coverage of Ansley/Litchfield vs Sandhills/Thedford volleyball at 5. Kickoff for the football game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
