Fall Sports Preview – Ansley/Litchfield Football

The Ansley/Litchfield Spartans will be a somewhat young team but return a good number of players that saw quality playing time last season.  The Spartans will compete in the strong D1-8 district which includes last year’s state runner up Burwell as well as Arcadia / Loup City, South Loup, Elm Creek, and Amherst.  Ansley/Litchfield opens the season by hosting Pleasanton and then travel to North Central and Cambridge to round out their non district schedule.  Kurt Kulhanek will serve as the Spartans head coach again this season and is excited about the group which is 26 members strong and returns 6 starters on offense and 7 starters on defense from last year’s team.

As the Spartans prepare for the start of the season, Kulhanek told KCNI/KBBN Sports that he is most impressed with the team unity the group has displayed in fall camp.

Ansley/Litchfield will be featured on KBBN 95.3 FM October 4th when they travel to Arcadia/Loup City and on October 10th when they host South Loup
