Broken Bow Boys Golf Preview

The Broken Bow boys golf team is under the direction of first year head coach Erik Chancellor. Chancellor has strong Custer County ties and recently returned to the area. He will be in charge of a group that is 17 members strong. Chancellor visited with KCNI/KBBN Sports last week about the team and the start of the season. Coach Chancellor shared his background in the game of golf, what led to his return to the area, and the opportunity to coach the Broken Bow boys golf team.

Chancellor talked about some of the things the team is working on in the opening days of practice.  He said that the dry conditions have limited practice on the course so most of their practice time has been spent on the driving range to this point.

Golf has always been a sport that requires mental toughness.  Chancellor said that visualization is a concept that he teaches and visits with the team about when it comes to being mentally prepared.

The Broken Bow boys golf team is scheduled to begin its season on Thursday with a dual at Gothenburg and is scheduled to compete in the North Platte Invite on Friday.
