Area Athletes Qualify for State Cross Country

The NSAA hosted its district cross country meets around the state Thursday as area athletes attempted to qualify for the state meet in Kearney on October 19th. The top 3 teams and top 15 individuals from each district qualified. At the D-5 meet, Jymmie Jensen of Burwell, Jenaya Pierce of SEM, and Alicia Rhoads of Arcadia/Loup City all qualified for the girls Class D state meet. Jensen placed 7th (21:07.8), Pierce was 12th (21:46.9), and Rhoads was 13th (21:48.9). Colin Arehart of Ansley/Lithfield qualified for the boys Class D
state meet by placing 3rd in a time of 17:30.1. Mullen qualified two runners at the D-6 meet. Trevor Kuncl qualified for the Class D boys meet by placing 14th (18:34.0) and Molly Paxton qualified for the Class D girls meet by finishing 8th (21:43.0)

The Broken Bow cross country team saw its season come to an end at the C-4 district in Ogallala. The Broken Bow boys team finished 5th in the team standings and the girls team placed 10th.
