Area Athletes Receive All State Basketball Recognition from OWH

The Omaha World Herald released its all state basketball selections Sunday for the 2023/2024 season.  Jace Rosentreader of SEM was a Class D2 boys first team all state selection. Rosentreader averaged 16.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game leading SEM to a district title and a state tournament appearance. Luke Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield was a Class D1 boys second team all state selection. Bailey helped lead the Spartans to a district championship this season and a state tournament appearance. Bailey averaged 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford was a first team Class D2 girls all state selection by the publication. The 5′ 10″ senior had a fabulous season averaging a double double with 17 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Haake helped lead Sandhills/Thedford to a district championship and a state tournament appearance this season. Broken Bow’s MaKinley Tobey was a Class C1 girls second team all state selection. Tobey led Broken Bow in scoring this season averaging 18 points per game. Tobey helped lead the Lady Indians to a district title and their third state tournament appearance in the last four years. Mikah O’Neill of SEM was a Class D1 girls second team all state selection. The SEM senior averaged 16.2 points per game helping lead the Lady Mustangs to a 20-5 overall record this season.
