The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new business to the community with a ribbon cutting at Lifting Spirits, located at 834 South C Street in Broken Bow, on Thursday.
Owned by Eve Conner, Lifting Spirits opened its storefront in August, although Conner has been involved in selling many of the specialty products offered at the shop for the past three years. She said she gets help from Nate Barker and also thanked Susie Walker for helping her get the storefront established.
The shop offers a variety of crystals and crystal-related products, including carvings, spheres, towers, rough cuts, pins and dishes. Visitors can also find locally handmade items, including pure tallow body care products, along with merchandise from other local artists.
In addition to its retail offerings, Lifting Spirits is planning several classes and activities for those interested in learning more about crystals and other specialty practices. Upcoming offerings include guided meditation sessions led by Deb England, introductory classes on Reiki and crystals, wire wrapping, crystal bracelet making and even an archery class.
Conner describes Reiki as a form of energy healing intended to promote relaxation and help people feel better physically, mentally and emotionally.
The business’s upcoming events schedule includes a guided meditation session with England on November 19, followed by an open house with special deals November 27 and 28. A Discovering Reiki class with Conner is scheduled for December 3, with additional classes continuing into the new year. Those include a Discovering Crystals class January 7 and a wire wrapping class with Karen Green on January 21. An archery class with Rhonda Polak is scheduled for April 15.
During the ribbon cutting, Broken Bow City Administrator Dave Schmidt congratulated Conner and those involved with the business, noting the variety of specialty offerings now available locally.
“Sometimes you think of some of these specialty things as something you would only find in the bigger city, so I think it’s really neat that a small town like Broken Bow can have such a variety of things to offer,” Schmidt said.
Lifting Spirits is located one block north of the Broken Bow square at 834 South C Street. Regular business hours are Monday and Tuesday from 10 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. The store is closed Thursdays and Sundays.
