Backroad Brand, a custom embroidery and personalization business located between Broken Bow and Callaway, celebrated its new membership in the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting on Thursday.
Owner Holly Brohman has been operating Backroad Brand for six years, building the business from a small operation into a growing custom shop equipped with multiple embroidery machines, a laser engraver and more.
The idea for the business came from Brohman’s interest in hats, embroidery and marketing, particularly within the area’s agricultural and ranching community. After leaving her previous job, she decided to pursue something of her own, combining her creativity with an opportunity to help individuals, businesses and organizations promote themselves through personalized products.
Today, Backroad Brand offers a wide range of custom work, including embroidered hats and apparel, laser engraved items, personalized gifts, signs, cattle ear tags, awards, trophies and custom tablecloths.
The shop itself features a showroom area downstairs, where customers can view examples of her work and available products. The upstairs serves as the production area, housing the embroidery machines, laser equipment and other tools used to complete customer orders. Brohman’s husband constructed the space, providing a dedicated area for the growing business.

While Backroad Brand has operated for several years, Brohman said joining the Chamber was an opportunity to become more involved and visible in the Broken Bow business community. She also sees an opportunity to help fill local needs, particularly in the area of awards and trophies, which she has offered but is now looking to promote more as community needs change.
Brohman said the business is continually growing and adapting to what customers are looking for.
“It’s never ending. We’re constantly evolving and changing all the time,” Brohman said. “We started with one small machine, kind of got into it, started building with more machines and more machines, added a laser when I moved out here three years ago.”
Backroad Brand works with individuals, businesses and groups on custom orders, with customers able to reach out with ideas or requests for personalized products. Brohman said she generally tries to maintain a two to three week turnaround time, depending on the project and current workload. Orders can also be shipped to customers outside the immediate area.
Brohman said she doesn’t really operate with traditional business hours and that customers can reach out in the evenings as well, recognizing that many people have busy schedules during the workday.
