The Custer County Treasurer’s Office is reminding citizens of the service options available for tax payments with the approaching April 30 first half real estate and personal property deadline.
Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office, in a courthouse drop box, or by mail.
One drop box is available outside of the courthouse on the west side of the building, available for use all hours. Another is inside the building at the County Treasurer’s main door accessible during business hours. Both will be checked throughout the day during business hours.
Payments by mail must have a postmark on or before Thursday, April 30, 2026 to avoid interest charges. (A manual stamp from the post office might be needed, a free service that ensures the postmark reflects the date USPS takes possession of the mail)
The county’s Gworks site is another option that can be used, allowing payment by name, parcel number(s) or address. It’s asked that those using this method make sure the payment is being made to the correct parcel before initiating the transaction. Another important note is a 2.49% portal fee when paying with a card. An alternative is paying by e-check, which results in a $3 fee. The Treasurer also notes to make sure all parcels are in your cart before submitting so you only pay a single fee.
Treasurer’s office hours are Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. The courthouse will be closed on Friday, April 24 to observe Arbor Day.
Those with questions or concerns can contact the Custer County Treasurer’s Office at 431 South 10th Avenue, Broken Bow, NE 68822, at 308-872-2921, or by faxing 308-872-3401.
