Custer County Board of Supervisors Approves New Security System

BROKEN BOW – The Custer County Board of Supervisors held their last 2023 meeting on Tuesday morning.

Anne Gibbons was the only member not present.

To begin, the Board approved the minutes of the December 12, 2023 meeting, mail, and heard Committee Reports.

The Board approved Resolution #33-2023, which declared the 1995 pro-tainer recycling center as surplus.

Discussed was Resolution #34-2023 – Transfer from County General Fund to County Road Fund. Being unable to find the Resolution, #34-2023 was tabled until the next meeting in January.

The next agenda item included a Land Lease Renewal with Vet Care with Larry Coleman. The Board tabled this agenda item to figure out exactly what they are leasing to figure out what Fair Market Value should be set at.

Next was the 2024 Membership Pledge to the CEDC. The Board of Supervisors have a Class A membership which allows the Supervisors to have a member on the Board and to vote. The cost to retain the 2024 Class A Membership for CEDC is $3,000. The Board choose to approve the 2024 Membership for CEDC.

With the Change Order #1 for the Arnold River Road, the Change Order was changed to match $25,758 which was discussed in the November 28, 2023 meeting.  

Custer County Emergency Manager Mark Rempe stated that the MOU was adjusted to reflect the amounts that were previously discussed at $6,094.13.

The Courthouse received a grant in the amount of $12,113.06 from NIRMA assisting with the purchase of security cameras, and camera systems. The application was submitted with the bid from Applied Connective.

The Board heard from EZ-It which would have cost $46,899.78 for door locks and cameras and the Courthouse would not be included. The total bid from Applied Connective is $38,816 with the applied grant including the Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office, and the Judicial Center.

The Board chose to approve the security system from Applied Connective.

The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
