Annual Melham Medical Center Auxiliary Spring Rummage Sale Scheduled for April 14-18

The Melham Medical Center Auxiliary Spring Rummage Sale is scheduled for April 14-18 at the Broken Bow Municipal Building.  The public is encouraged to donate items for the sale.  Items will be collected at the Municipal Building in Broken Bow during “Bundle Days” which are Sunday (4/14) 1-5 pm and Monday (4/15) 8 am – 6 pm.  It is encouraged that all items donated be clean and presentable.  Due to space, large to extra large items will not be accepted.  The public is reminded that no sales will be made during “Bundle Days”.  Proceeds raised during the sale will go toward the auxiliary’s healthcare scholarship fund and for improvements at the Melham Medical Center.  Auxiliary president Jan Doggett told KCNI/KBBN news:

“The amazing thing is that 100% of the money goes to our hospital.  We also do four scholarships a year (one) for a college student and for three students going into the (medical) field.”

Doggett said that the CEO of the hospital will present to the auxiliary a list of things that are needed.  As an example of items that have been donated through the rummage sale fundraiser, when the addition was made to the medical center a few years ago the auxiliary helped fund all of the televisions for the new rooms.  An ice cream machine is another example of an item that was furnished through the auxiliary which serves as a benefit to the hospital that did not have to come from hospital funds.

Doggett emphasized that volunteers are always needed and appreciated.  If you would like to donate your time to help with this year’s sale one is encouraged to contact Doggett at 308-870-0801.

Sale days are scheduled for Tuesday (4/16) 8 am – 7 pm, Wednesday (4/17) 8 am – 7 pm, and Thursday (4/18) 8 am – 1 pm.
