National Day of Prayer event Thursday in Broken Bow

The 73rd Annual National Day of Prayer is today (May 2) across the United States. The Broken Bow Ministerial Association is hosting an event at 6 pm at the Broken Bow square.

The community is invited to attend the event and pray for the nation. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. This year’s theme is “Lift up the word, light up the world”.

Since 1952, when a bill initiated by Mr. Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels and Senator Frank Carlson of Kansas was passed, a National Day of Prayer has been observed in the United States. The annual event invites people of all faiths and beliefs to come together and pray for the nation. The observance is held on the first Thursday of May each year.
