2026 Nebraska Lineworkers Rodeo at the Custer County Fairgrounds will be July 16-17

The 2026 Nebraska Lineworkers Rodeo is just around the corner, with events set for July 16-17.

The Custer County Fairground will host this event starting on Thursday, July 16. Registration is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Paddock 4-H Building. The judges’ meeting will happen from 2 to 3 p.m. Starting at 3 is the Q & A, and then the vendor show with meet and greet starts at 5 p.m. 

On Friday, the opening ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m. Immediately after the opening ceremony are the journeyman events. The apprentice events will begin after the apprentice test, which goes from 9 to 9:20 a.m. The mutual aid event will start after the completion of the journeyman and apprentice events. Finally, the awards ceremony will take place following the mutual aid event. 

The Lineworkers Rodeo is an annual event going on since 2012, where the public is encouraged to attend and learn about how lineworkers provide electricity to everyone. Two-person crews and apprentices are judged during the rodeo on their ability to perform work tasks safely and quickly.
