Nebraska State High School Finals Rodeo Begins in Valentine

The Nebraska High School State Finals Rodeo begins its three-day run today at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine.

The top high school cowboys and cowgirls from around the state will compete to add to their yearly point standings in an effort to qualify for the National High School Finals Rodeo which will take place in Lincoln, NE this year July 19 – 25.

The first go round of the state finals takes place today beginning with the first go of the boys and girls cutting at 7 a.m.  The opening performance of the rodeo is scheduled for 11 a.m. followed by the second performance and final performance of the first go at 6 p.m. this evening.  The second go takes place on Friday with the state finals concluding on Saturday with the boys and girls cutting finals Saturday morning followed by the rodeo short go Saturday afternoon.

Thursday (6/11) – 5 p.m.
Friday (6/12) – Noon and 5 p.m.
Saturday (6/13) – Noon
Monday (6/15) – Noon (announcing the national qualifiers)
