Boys high school golfers will attempt to qualify this week for the NSAA boys state golf championships which take place next week May 27-28. The top three teams and top ten individuals from each district will automatically qualify for the state tournament.
The Broken Bow boys golf team is competing in Class B this year and is in district 1 which is taking place today at Rivers Wild Golf Course in Blair and is being hosted by Bennington high school. Joining Broken Bow in the district are Columbus Lakeview, Omaha Skutt, McCook, Elkhorn, Beatrice, Seward, Alliance, Fort Calhoun, Lincoln Northwest, and Schuyler. The Class B state tournament will take place at Scotts Bluff Country Club in Scottsbluff.
Anselmo-Merna, Burwell, Sandhills Valley, Sandhills/Thedford, and South Loup are among the teams competing today at the D-3 district today at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. SEM will be at the D-4 district today hosted by Eustis-Farnam at Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake. Mullen will be among the teams at the D-5 district tournament hosted by Perkins County at Ogallala’s Crandall Creek golf course. The D-5 tournament is scheduled for Tuesday (5/19). The Class D state tournament will take place this year at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.
Arcadia/Loup City will compete at the C-4 district meet today hosted by Adams Central at Southern Hills golf course in Hastings. The Class C state tournament will take place at Grand Island’s Indianhead Golf Course.
