SWC Track Results – Broken Bow’s Ellis, Baltz, and Girls 4×800 Relay Claim Conference Gold

Broken Bow was among the teams that competed at the Southwest Conference track and field championships in Cozad on Saturday.  Other conference members included Minden, Holdrege, Ogallala, McCook, Cozad, and Gothenburg.  Cozad was the boys team champion and Gothenburg claimed the girls team title.

Among the Broken Bow highlights, Drew Ellis was the conference champion in the boys shot put with a winning effort of 51′ 11.5 “.  Ellis and teammate Gunner Baltz finished first and second in the boys discus.  Both had a top throw of 156′ 9”.  On the tie break of next best throw, Baltz took the gold and Ellis was runner up.  Broken Bow took gold in the girls 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Halle Quinn, Lauryn Hansen, Izzy Shelton, and Ashlyn Schauda posted a winning time of 9:59.42.

Halle Quinn was runner up in the girls 800.  Bailey Faltys was runner up in the girls triple jump and placed third in the long jump.  Ashlyn Schauda was third in the girls 1600.  Olivia Neely placed third in the girls high jump and Charlee Myers was third in the girls pole vault.  Aiden Page was third in the boys shot put.

In the relays, Broken Bow was runner up in the boys 4×100 and third in the girls 4×100.
