Broken Bow Competes at Gothenburg Track Invite

Broken Bow was among the teams that competed at the Dutch Zorn track and field meet hosted by Gothenburg on Thursday. Joining Broken Bow in the meet were teams from Aurora, Cozad, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, McCook, Minden, Ogallala, Scottsbluff, and Sidney.  Kearney Catholic won the girls team title followed by Gothenburg in second and Aurora was third.  The boys team race wasn’t decided until the final race.  Gothenburg won the boys 4×400 to secure the boys team title by one point over Scottsbluff.  Aurora was third.

Among the Broken Bow highlights, Halle Quin was the runner up in the girls 800 in a time of 2:31.37.  Charlee Myers placed third in the girls pole vault clearing 10′ 1″.  Broken Bow placed two in the top six of the boys shot put.  Drew Ellis placed third with a throw of 51′ 9″ and Aiden Page was fifth with an effort of 46′ 11.5″.

Other top six finishes for Broken Bow included a fourth place finish in the girls 4×800 meter relay. The team of Rylie Wistesen, Lauryn Hansen, Lillian Nixon, and Baylee Clark posted a time of 11:18.1.  Broken Bow (Ayden Clark, Braxton Eggleston, Aidan Markham, Dominic Nowak) placed sixth in the boys 4×100 meter relay.  Broken Bow (Bailey Faltys, Baylee Clark, Halle Quinn, McKenna Jacobsen) placed sixth in the girls 4×400.
