Anselmo-Merna and Twin Loup were among the teams that competed at the Sandhills Track Invite hosted by North Central on Tuesday. North Central won the boys team championship and Valentine won the girls team title. Anselmo-Merna finished third overall in the boys team standings.
Among the area highlights, Anselmo-Merna’s Trevor Duryea won the boys triple jump with a winning effort of 44′ 10″ and teammate Caenyn Priest (40′ 3″) placed third in the event. Priest also finished third in the boys 110 meter hurdles (15.85) and was third in the 300 meter hurdles (45.59). Destrey White of Anselmo-Merna won the boys long jump with an effort of 19′ 5.5″. Colin Wright of Anselmo-Merna won the boys 200 in a time of 23.38 seconds. Wright and White each cleared 6′ in the boys high jump to finish second and third respectively. Wright also finished second in the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 11.52 seconds. Noah Lamb of Twin Loup cleared the winning height of 11′ in the boys pole vault but finished second on the tie break. Jackson Hall of Twin Loup cleared 10′ 6″ in the boys pole vault to finish third. Emmett Grint of Twin Loup was runner up in the boys 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.51 seconds. Blake Bottorf of Twin Loup placed third in the boys shot put (43′ 6.5″). Lily Thornton of Anselmo-Merna placed third in the girls discus (110′ 6″). Shayleigh Coleman of Anselmo-Merna placed second in the girls 300 meter hurdles (52.96) and was third in the girls 100 meter hurdles (17.76).

Arcadia/Loup City was among the teams that competed at the Wood River Track Invite on Tuesday. ALC finished third in the boys team standings and fourth in the girls standings. Among the highlights for the Rebels, Tyce Calleroz won the boys 100 meter dash in a winning time of 11.07 seconds. Calleroz placed third in the boys 200 in a time of 22.73. Wyatt Stieb won the boys shot put with an effort of 49′ 6.25″). Taylor Obermiller claimed gold in the girls 400 with a winning time of 1:03.53. Hadley Rademacher was runner up in the girls 100 meter hurdles (17.46). Dutch Miller was runner up in the boys 3200 (10:24.56) and runner up in the 1600 (4:56.79). Brogan Setlik was runner up in boys 800 in a time of 2:12.53. Rylee Kursave was third in the girls discus with a throw of 113′ 11″ and placed third in the girls shot put with an effort of 33′ 10″). ALC was runner up in the boys 4×400 meter relay and third in both the girls 4×800 and 4×400 meter relays.
