Broken Bow fell to Central City Tuesday night at the C1-8 girls sub district basketball tournament in Milford. Both teams struggled offensively through the majority of the game. McKenna Jacobsen knocked down a three at the end of the third quarter to pull Broken Bow to within 17-12 entering the final quarter. In the fourth, Central City found their offense scoring 20 points in the quarter to pull away for a 37-22 win. Central City advances to the sub district final on Thursday where they will face top seed Milford who defeated David City 72-40 to advance. Broken Bow was led by senior Charlee Myers who finished with a team high nine points and Cindy Flores scored eight off the bench for the Lady Indians who conclude their season at 15-10.
At the D2-8 sub district tournament at SEM. Anselmo-Merna and SEM advanced to Thursday’s sub final. Top seed SEM defeated Twin Loup 60-27. The Lady Mustangs were led by Taryn Arbuthnot who finished with a game high 25 points. Jaelynn Blackburn led the way for Twin Loup with a team high ten points. Also advancing to the D2-8 sub district final was Anselmo-Merna. The Lady Coyotes held off Sandhills/Theford 55-49 to advance. Rhianen Myers helped lead the Lady Coyotes with a game high 23 points. Sandhills/Thedford was led by Laney Dahlberg who finished with 21. SEM will host Anselmo-Merna for the sub district championship. At the D1-10 sub district tournament, top seed Overton defeated South Loup 61-24 and #2 seed Brady held off Ansley/Litchfield 56-36.
Mullen advanced to the finals of the D2-12 sub district tournament. The top seed defeated Hyannis 66-37. The Broncos will face Crawford in the sub district final. Crawford defeated Hay Springs 44-38.
Ogallala and Gothenburg will meet for the C1-10 sub district championship. Ogallala defeated Chadron 69-37 and Gothenburg defeated Bridgeport 57-29.
