The Nebraska Schools Activities Association has released the brackets and pairings for boys sub-district basketball tournaments which begin next week.
Broken Bow will compete at the C1-9 sub-district tournament at Grand Island Central Catholic. Broken Bow is the #4 seed in the six team tournament. Broken Bow will open play on Monday (2/23) against Wilber-Clatonia at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to play top seed GICC on Tuesday (2/24). On the other side of the bracket, Malcolm will play Gibbon on Monday with the winner advancing out to face #2 seed Adams Central on Tuesday. All Broken Bow games from the C1-9 tournament will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM / kcni1280.com / Free KCNI Pure Country App.
Twin Loup is the top seed for the D1-10 sub-district tournament. Burwell will face Sandhills Valley on Monday with the winner advancing out to play Twin Loup on Tuesday. On the other side of the bracket, #2 seed Anselmo-Merna will face #3 seed South Loup. The winners will face off in the sub-district final on Thursday. Tuesday’s games and Thursday’s sub final will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM / kbbn.com / Free KBBN Thunderbird App. A live video stream of those games, accompanied by the radio call, will be available through the Sandhills Express Facebook Page and Sandhills Express You Tube Channel.
SEM is the top seed and will host the D2-8 sub-district tournament. Ansley/Litchfield will face Brady on Monday with the winner advancing to play SEM on Tuesday. On the other side of the bracket, #3 seed Sandhills/Thedford will face #2 seed Medicine Valley.
Mullen is the top seed and will host the D2-12 sub-district tournament. Mullen will play the winner of Crawford vs Hay Springs. On the other side of the bracket, #2 seed Hyannis will face Cody-Kilgore
Arcadia/Loup City is the #3 seed at the six team C2-9 sub-district tournament. The Rebels will open against Centura on Monday with the winner advancing to face #2 seed Amherst. The top seed and host of the tournament is Sandy Creek.
Gothenburg is the top seed at the C1-8 tournament and will face the winner of St. Paul vs Holdrege. Cozad is the top seed at the C1-7 tournament and will face the winner of Central City vs Kearney Catholic.
