The season is underway for the Broken Bow Unified Bowling Team. This is the second year for the program which has grown to twenty team members this season.
Unified Bowling is sanctioned by the Nebraska School Activities Association and provides opportunities for students with and without disabilities to interact in meaningful ways. Dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences, Unified Sports® joins people with (athletes) and without (partners) intellectual disabilities on the same team.
Broken Bow hosted Southern Valley for a dual at Pleasure Lanes on Tuesday. Broken Bow claimed the award for best combined team score with 1,152 total pins and Broken Bow (Team #2) secured the high game score of the dual with a 139. Broken Bow #2 included Jeremiah Ellis (athlete) along with Drew Ellis, Mason Westerhold, and Trinity Mickle (partners).
The Broken Bow unified bowling team will continue competition through the month of November leading up to districts. Broken Bow will compete in the B-5 district meet at Pastime Lanes in Hastings on December 2nd.
