The 2025 State Cross Country Championships will take place today at the Kearney Country Club and golf course. The first race on the course will be Class D girls at Noon. Those from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area scheduled to compete include Riley Hegland of Mullen along with Jalise Busch and Lena Spencer of Burwell.
Race #2 will feature Class C girls at 12:30. Ashlyn Schauda will represent Broken Bow in the competition. Schauda qualified for state by finishing fifth in the C-5 District meet. Gothenburg qualified as a team and will be represented by Jenna Anderson, Scout Bell, Ruby Beveridge, Adalyn Carlson, Adeline Pinkston, and Brooklyn Reiman. Audrey Baker of Cozad will also be among the competitors.
Race #3 will feature Class D boys at 1 p.m. South Loup qualified for state as a team. The Bobcats were the D-5 boys district team champions. South Loup will be represented by Jaden Baker, Walter Bierman, Josiah Coleman, and Eli Rogers. Others from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area scheduled to compete include Connor Sutton of Sandhills/Thedford, Dutch Miller of Arcadia/Loup City, and Braylon Kuncl of Mullen.
Race #4 will feature Class C boys at 1:30. Gothenburg qualified as a team and will be represented by Landon Feather, Tyler Hetz, Bryson Neels, Jackson Reidy, Carson Reiman, and Lucas Therrien. Koang Deng of Cozad will also be among the competitors
