Broken Bow took the 5th place match at the Southwest Conference volleyball tournament in Cozad on Tuesday with a 2-1 win over McCook. Broken Bow took the opening set 25-19 but McCook came back to tie the match winning set #2 25-16. In the third, Broken Bow trailed 23-21 but after a timeout the Lady Indians ran off four in a row to come back and take the match 25-23 in the final set. Broken Bow finished with 46 kills with three players in double figures. Izabelle Tibbs led the team with 16 kills, Olivia Neely had 14, and Charlee Myers finished with 10. Myers led the team in digs with 18. Broken Bow finished with 44 assists led by Lauryn Hansen with 25 and McKenna Jacobsen finished with 17. Broken Bow improves to 15-13 on the season. In other action from the SWC tournament, Minden def. Gothenburg 3-1 in the 3rd place consolation (20-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19). Ogallala claimed the tournament championship. The top seed defeated
Holdrege in the championship match 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-11.
SEM hosted Twin Loup and Arcadia/Loup City for triangular on Tuesday evening. SEM finished 2-0 on the night winning over Twin Loup in two sets 25-17, 25-23. The Mustangs also won over Arcadia/Loup City 2-0 (25-21, 25-17). In the other match of the night, ALC defeated Twin Loup 25-18, 25-20.
