Broken Bow Public Schools (BBPS) Announces Completion of Phase 1 Construction

BBPS Superintendent Darren Tobey announced on Tuesday, October 6 the official completion of Phase 1 of the Broken Bow Middle School – High School project.

Phase 1’s completion means students and staff now get to enjoy brand-new science rooms and labs, a cutting-edge business center, and remodeled classrooms for the social studies department. New school spaces have been designed with details to enhance learning and collaboration, creating modern, inspiring environments.

In a statement, Tobey said, “It’s truly amazing to watch our campus evolve. From new classrooms to upgraded facilities, we are creating spaces that inspire learning, encourage creativity, and foster community pride. Every hallway, lab, and classroom reflects the commitment of our staff, students, and families to making Broken Bow an extraordinary place to learn and grow.”

The construction project is now moving into Phase 2, which includes the demolition of the remaining seven north high school classrooms and the old office area, currently serving as two temporary classrooms. In addition, work will continue on the new locker rooms and training room, which are expected to be completed by early November. If all goes as planned, Phase 2 will wrap up in January 2026, completing the overall renovation project.

Tobey acknowledged that there have been a few hiccups along the way, but states, “The journey has been incredible, and every challenge has been worth it to see the final result. We are so proud of our students, staff, and community for their patience, support, and enthusiasm throughout this process.”
