Broken Bow finished third at the Lexington Volleyball Invite on Saturday. Broken Bow opened the tournament with a straight set win over Central Valley 25-23, 25-22. Olivia Neely and Izabelle Tibbs each had nine kills. Broken Bow faced St. Paul in the semifinal round. St. Paul advanced to the championship with a straight set win 25-19, 25-21. Izabelle Tibbs had six kills and Baylee Clark finished with five kills in the semifinal match. Broken Bow faced the host team Lexington in the 3rd place consolation match. Broken Bow dropped the opening set 14-25 but came back to tie the match winning set #2 25-17 and then claimed the decisive third set 25-17. Izabelle Tibbs led the Lady Indians with 13 kills in the 3rd place match and Halle Quinn had nine kills. McKenna Jacobsen finished with 33 assists and 10 digs in the match. St. Paul claimed the tournament title defeating Holdrege in the championship match 25-23, 25-20. Broken Bow is now 3-3 on the season. The Lady Indians will play at Amherst on Tuesday (9/9) and play at North Platte St. Pat’s on Thursday (9/11). The Broken Bow / St. Pat’s match will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
