Broken Bow claimed the girls team championship at the Cozad Cross Country Invite on Thursday. The Lady Indians were led by Ashlyn Schauda who claimed the girls individual championship with a winning time of 21 minutes 39 seconds. Broken Bow placed four runners in the top ten of the girls individual standings. Genesis Guevara was third (23:25) followed by Maydee Guevara in fourth (23:26) and Rylie Wistisen was eighth (25:10). Jaycee Staples of Broken Bow placed in the top 20 finishing 16th (27:39). Lyla Bierman of South Loup placed in the top 15 finishing 15th (27:12).
On the boys side, Holdrege was the team champion followed by Cozad in second. Broken Bow and South Loup tied for fourth and fifth. The boys individual champion was Samuel McQuistan of Holdrege in a winning time of 16 minutes 28 seconds. Logan Bell of Broken Bow was a top ten finisher placing 10th (18:43). South Loup placed two runners in the top 15. Jaden Baker finished 13th (18:50) and Josiah Coleman was 14th (18:54).
