Broken Bow Juniors Suffer First Loss at Area Tournament – Will Play Elimination Game on Sunday

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors baseball team fell to McCook Saturday afternoon at the B-6 area tournament in Holdrege. McCook starting pitcher Kale Sattler pitched a complete game shutout to lead McCook to a 7-0 win. Sattler held Broken Bow to just three hits, surrendered no walks, and struck out nine. Broken Bow’s best scoring threat came in the third inning where they collected two of their three hits but saw the inning end with runners at second and third. Drew Ellis had a double while Dylan Kulhanek and Jackson Hall each had a single to account for Broken Bow’s three hits on the day. With the loss, Broken Bow drops down to the elimination bracket where they will face Shelton/Gibbon Sunday afternoon at 1:30. The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
