State Track Begins Today with Competition in Classes A and B – Hourly Updates of Broken Bow and Area Athletes on KBBN

The 2025 NSAA state track and field championships begin today at Burke Stadium in Omaha.  State track will be a four day event again this year with classes A and B featured today and tomorrow followed by classes C and D on Friday and Saturday.

Broken Bow will be among the teams competing today in Class B.  Keelyn Shea will be the first Broken Bow athlete to compete.  Shea will be among the competitors in the girls discus which begins at 9 this morning.  Drew Ellis will represent the Indians in the boys shot put today which is scheduled to start at 11:30.

Running events are scheduled to start at 1:30 today.  The first event on the track is the class B girls 4×800 meter relay and it will feature the Broken Bow team of Maren Chapin, Gaby Staples, Ashlyn Schauda, and Halle Quinn.  Klarissa Dowdy will compete in the prelims of the class B girls 100 meter hurdles at 2:25 and Maren Chapin will run in the finals of the class B girls 400 beginning at 4:05 today.

Central Nebraska’s Sports Source will be reporting live during all four days of the state track and field championships.  Hourly updates can be heard today on KBBN 95.3 FM beginning in the 11 a.m. hour.
