Officials with the Lower Loup Natural Resources District have announced that Davis Creek Recreation Area has reopened following completion of a construction project that began on October 1.

Walk-in camping and boat traffic opportunities began on Friday, with camping reservations opening yesterday at noon on the Reserve America website. LLNRD stated that several muddy areas remain following the construction, asking for the public to stay on the new concrete whenever possible.

The completed project included 3,200 feet of smooth, wide concrete road as well as paved approaches, entrances, and exits for the shower house, campgrounds, the day use loop, and RV dump.

Bureau of Reclamation Title 28 grant funds were used for the project. The same grant fund was previously used for the 2017 Davis Creek campground expansion as well as the building of the RV dump, playgrounds, and maintenance shed.
