Arcadia/Loup City hosted Anselmo-Merna for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader Tuesday night in Loup City. In the girls game, Arcadia/Loup City overcame a 12 point second half deficit to come back and win a thriller 36-35. Trailing by 12 late in the third, Olivia Fitzgerald, Tayler Obermiller, and Brianna Lueck hit back to back to back threes to get the Rebels back in it. ALC would then outscore AM 13-7 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback. Olivia Fitzgerald finished with a team high nine points for ALC while Anselmo-Merna was led by Makenna Miller who finished with a game high 12 points. In the boys game, Ryan Kaslon scored 14 of his game high 17 points in the second quarter as Arcadia/Loup City was able to pull away for a 50-36 win. Anselmo-Merna was led by Dane Duryea who finished with a team high 14 points.
The Broken Bow girls improved to 2-0 with a 59-30 win over Amherst Tuesday night. The Lady Indians had three players score in double figures led by Jayden Gaffney with 18 points. Gaby Staples and Janae Marten each finished with 14 points as eight players scored for the Lady Indians.
