Sandhills/Thedford collected its 19th win of the season claiming the D2-10 sub district championship on Tuesday with a straight set win over Mullen 25-22, 25-22, 25-15. With the win, Sandhills/Thedford advances to the Class D2 district finals which will take place on Saturday. Mullen ends the season at 15-15.
SEM fell to Central Valley in the finals of the D2-7 sub district tournament on Tuesday. Central Valley held off SEM in set #1 to win 25-21 then won a deuce game in set #2 28-26. SEM jumped out early in the third set with a 10-5 lead and led through the majority of the set but Central Valley was able to come back and take the third set 25-22 to win the match and automatically advance to the Class D2 district finals on Saturday. SEM is now 22-8 on the season and will wait to see if they can qualify as a wildcard for the district finals.
Burwell knocked off Ansley/Litchfield to claim the D1-8 sub district championship on Tuesday. Ansley/Litchfield won the first set 25-22 but Burwell came back to win the second set 29-27. The Longhorns then won the third (25-18) and closed it out in the fourth (25-21) for a 3 sets to 1 win. Burwell will advance to a district final while Ansley/Litchfield will look to qualify as a wildcard with an overall record of 21-10.
Arcadia/Loup City advanced to the finals of the C2-9 sub district tournament with a 3-1 win over Cross County on Tuesday. ALC lost the first set 25-18 but came back to win three straight deuce games. 27-25 in the 2nd, 26-24 in the third, and 26-24 in the 4th. The Lady Rebels will face Maywood Hayes Center for the sub district championship on Wednesday.
