Valentine hosted the Southwest Conference cross country championships Thursday at Frederick Peak Golf Club. Gothenburg won both the girls and boys team championships. Broken Bow finished third overall in the girls team standings and sixth in the boys standings.
Scout Bell of Gothenburg was the girls individual champion in a winning time of 20:45.85. Broken Bow’s Ashlyn Schauda was a top ten finisher placing sixth in a time of 22:05.74. Broken Bow would place five runners in the top 25. Genesis Guevara was 13th, Maydee Guevara 16th, Gaby Staples 17th, and Anette Guevara was 23rd.
The boys individual champion was Tyler Hetz of Gothenburg in a winning time of 16:41.92. Broken Bow’s Logan Bell finished in the top ten placing 9th in a time of 18:28.84. Finishing in the top 25 for Broken Bow were Jackson Hansen 22nd and Michael Forster was 25th.
