Litchfield fire hall golf scramble is Saturday in Ravenna

In their ongoing mission to raise money for the construction of a new fire hall, the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a 3 person golf scramble on Saturday (September 21) at the Ravenna golf course.

Rescue truck captain Andrew Reynolds echoed the concerns that Alyssa Reynolds shared with KCNI/KBBN ahead of an event on September 7: the current fire hall does not have the necessary room.

“We actually have three trucks that aren’t even housed in our fire hall, they’re all in off site housing because our fire hall isn’t big enough to house all of our needs,” Reynolds explained.

He went on to say that the Fire and Ice event earlier this month really opened the eyes of the community, “The people that did show up, you know, they were intrigued, they had questions. There was a lot of positive outcome from it I believe from people realizing how crammed we are in the old one.”

Reynolds said that Saturday’s scramble will be a fun, laid back event. They are hoping for as many as 36 teams, and as of Wednesday morning had 20 already signed up. Sign up ahead of time is encouraged, but teams can come on Saturday ready to golf as well. Team cost is $180 and mulligans are available. Check in is at 9 AM with a shotgun start at 10 AM. Cash prizes will be paid out reflective of the amount of teams playing.

Those with questions or that want to register are encouraged to call Andrew at 308-440-4899 or Mike Beck at 308-224-4557.
