The Class B Area 6 American Legion Seniors baseball tournament begins today in Broken Bow at Paul Brown Field.
Broken Bow is the #2 seed in this year’s tournament and will open play against Doniphan-Trumbull-Gitner today at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the winner’s bracket to face the winner of Central City vs Gothenburg which will take place today at 1:30. The first game of the tournament today will feature the #4 seed Holdrege taking on McCook with the winner advancing to play top seed Minden in the second round on Saturday. The winner of the Area 6 tournament will advance to the state tournament which begins August 3rd in Holdrege. If Holdrege were to win the Area 6 tournament, the second place team would represent Area 6 at the state tournament since Holdrege has already secured an automatic bid to state as the host team.
Today’s game between Broken Bow and DTG, and all Broken Bow games through the double elimination tournament, will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
