Bow Seniors Defeat Lexington and Claim League West Division Title

The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors baseball team collected its 13th win of the season against Lexington on Thursday night.

Broken Bow led 5-2 after five innings but put together a six run sixth inning on their way to an 11-3 win in six innings on the 8 run rule after five.  Max Denson was the winning pitcher going 5 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs on two hits and striking out 10.  Broken Bow scored 11 runs on just 5 hits taking advantage of seven Lexington errors.  Eli Coble finished with 4 RBI thanks in part to a 3 run double and scored two runs.  Coy Wardyn was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Brice Chaplin was 1 for 3 with a double, 3 RBI, and 1 run scored.  The Bow seniors improve to 13-5 on the season.

With the win, combined with an Ogallala loss to Imperial on Thursday night, the Bow seniors secured the west division title of the Mid Nebraska League.  Broken Bow will play in the Mid Nebraska League seniors championship game on July 8th and will host the game at Paul Brown Field.  The opponent has yet to be determined as DCB (Dannebrog, Cairo, Boelus) and York are both still in the running to claim the east division title.
