Mullen vs Sandhills/Thedford

Mullen hosted Sandhills/Thedford Thursday night in the regular season finale for both teams.  Carter Anderson put Sandhills/Thedford on the board first with a 15 yard touchdown run to put the Knights up 6-0.  With under a minute to play in the first half, Anderson would score again busting loose for a 70 yard touchdown run to make the score 14-0 at halftime.  On their opening drive of the second half, Mullen’s Bo Pettit Jr. connected with Cian Connealy on a ten yard touchdown pass to make the score 14-6.  The Knights quickly answered on the following drive as Carter Anderson scored his third touchdown of the night to put Sandhills/Thedford up 22-6.  With 6:22 left in the game, Bo Pettit Jr. threw his second touchdown pass of the game on a 6 yard toss to Colby Kessler to bring Mullen to within 22-12 but that would be as close as the Broncos would get as Sandhills/Thedford held on for a 22-12 win.  Sandhills/Thedford ends the regular season at 5-4 while Mullen dropped to 3-6.
