The annual Sertoma 8 man all star football game was played in Hastings on Saturday. The West team scored 16 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to claim a 22-6 lead. Quincy Ryker of Twin Loup broke loose for a 41 yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the West team an early 6-0 lead. Trey Connell of South Loup and Brecken Erickson of North Platte St. Pat’s each had rushing touchdowns for the West in the fourth quarter. Connell was named the offensive MVP for the West team. One of the defensive highlights for the West team came when Rhett McFadden of Sandhills/Thedford tackled the East team in the end zone for a safety with 4 minutes left in the game.
