Nebraska High School Rodeo Competes at Thedford and Stapleton

Nebraska high school rodeo contestants competed at Thedford and Stapleton this past weekend. Recapping some of the area highlights. Cazen Coffman-Smith of Milburn was the steer wrestling champion on Saturday in Thedford with a winning time of 5.47 seconds. Gracyn Hicks of Burwell won the girls cutting on Saturday with a winning score of 72. Other top area finishes on Saturday included Dawson Doggett of Callaway fourth in the steer wrestling, Haylea Miller of Merna fourth in the girls cutting, Jacie Naprstek of Gothenburg fifth in the breakaway roping and Jace Rosentreader of Lexington was fifth in the tie down roping.

On Sunday in Stapleton, Zachary Miller of Callaway was runner up in the tie down roping followed by Emmett Sortum of Taylor in third. Anna Clark of Thedford was runner up in the barrels on Sunday followed by Jimi Fletcher of Arnold in third and Haylea Miller of Merna was fourth. Other top five area finishes Sunday included Cayson Johnston of Stapleton third in the steer wrestling.
