NSAA Boys Golf State Championships Tee Off Today

The NSAA boys golf state championships begin today.  The event is a 36 hole tournament with round one today and round two tomorrow.  The Nebraska School Activities Association issued a statement just after 10 p.m. Monday evening announcing the delay of the start to the Class D state tournament which is taking place at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.  The statement read that due to the weather forecast the Class D state tournament would be delayed by one hour.  It went on to state that all other sites hosting state tournaments would start on schedule.

The Class C state tournament takes place at Elks Country Club in Columbus.  Broken Bow freshman Jack White will be among the competitors.  White qualified for state by finishing in the top ten of the C-5 district meet last week.  White will start his round on the back nine today and will be in the second group to tee off hole #10 at 9:10 this morning.

The Class D state tournament takes place at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.  South Loup and Anselmo-Merna qualified as teams for the championship event.  Adjusted tee times for area golfers are as follows.  For South Loup Cache, Gracey and Dawson Doggett will begin their round on the front nine today. Gracey will tee off in the second group off hole #1 at 10:10 this morning and joining him in the group will be Ethan Weems of Sandhills Valley. Doggett will be in the following group off hole #1 at 10:20. Joey Sallach, Haydn Stretesky, and Harper Johnson will all begin their round on the back nine today. Sallach is scheduled to tee off at 10:40, Stretesky at 11 a.m. and Johnson at 11:20.

For Anselmo-Merna, Aaron Bartak and Colin Cooksley will begin their rounds on the front nine today. Bartak will tee off hole #1 in the 11 a.m. group while Cooksley will tee off in the second to last group off hole #1 at 11:40. Barrett McIntyre, Quinten Myers, and Adyson Priest will all begin their round on the back nine starting on hole #10. McIntyre will tee off at 11:20, Myers in the following group at 11:30, and Priest at Noon.

Other area competitors in the Class D tournament include Brady Haake of Sandhills/Thedford teeing off hole #1 at 11:20 and Jacob Walker of Mullen will tee off hole #10 at 10:10 this morning.
