Area High School Rodeo Contestants Compete at Madison

The Nebraska high school rodeo made a stop in Madison over the weekend for performances on Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the area highlights from the weekend included Cayson Johnston of Stapleton winning the tie down roping on Saturday with a winning time of 11.72 seconds followed by Colton Leach of Dunning in second with a time of 13.57.   Dawson Doggett of Callaway was the steer wrestling champion on Saturday with a time of 6.93 seconds and was the runner up in the event on Sunday with a time of 6.18.  Haylea Miller of Merna was runner up in the barrel racing on Saturday with a time of 15.281 seconds.
