Anselmo-Merna will host Ansley/Litchfield tonight for a girls and boys basketball doubleheader in Merna. Tonight’s games will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. A live video stream of tonight’s games, accompanied by the radio call, will be available through sandhillsexpress.com on the Sandhills Express Facebook page and Sandhills Express You Tube page. The girls varsity game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow.

Girls district wrestling tournaments will take place today across the state. Broken Bow will host the district 4 championships with matches scheduled to start at 2 p.m. The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the state wrestling championships next week in Omaha. Wrestlers from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area who have qualified for today’s district meet include:
105 lbs. – Abby Negley (Gothenburg)
115 lbs. – Marianne Zuniga (Sandhills Valley)
120 lbs. – HayLynn Glidden (Sandhills/Thedford) and Saije Phelps (Sandhills Valley)
135 lbs. – Shelby Schukei (Sandhills/Thedford)
140 lbs. – Ellie Scoville (SEM)
155 lbs. – Macey Flynn (Anselmo-Merna) and Mariah Duran (Sandhills Valley)
Ansley/Litchfield and Arcadia/Loup City will compete at the district 2 girls wrestling tournament in York. Qualifying for today’s district meet for Ansley/Litchfield are Sophia Barela at 100 lbs., Gracie Reitz at 125 lbs., and Morgan Hawkins at 235 lbs. Representing Arcadia/Loup City will be Rylee Kursave at 170 lbs.
Class D boys district wrestling tournaments begin today across the state and will conclude tomorrow. Anselmo-Merna and South Loup will be among the teams competing at the D-1 district at Weeping Water High School. Ansley/Litchfield, Burwell, and Twin Loup will be at the D-2 district at Shelby-Rising City public schools. Arcadia/Loup City, Sandhills/Thedford, and SEM will be at the D-3 district meet at Pleasanton while Mullen and Sandhills Valley will be at the D-4 district meet in Bayard. The top four in each weight class qualify for the state tournament.
