The Broken Bow wrestling team has qualified for the Class C state wrestling duals. This will mark Broken Bow’s 7th appearance at state duals. Broken Bow is the defending Class C state champion and also won the state dual championship in 2018 and 2019. Broken Bow is the #3 seed in this year’s Class C tournament. The Indians have a 15-1 dual record this season. Broken Bow will open Saturday’s tournament against Central City who had a 17-3 dual record this season. The opening round dual is scheduled for 9 a.m. Milford is the top seed in the Class C tournament and will open against #8 Battle Creek. Wilber Clatonia is the #2 and will face St. Paul in the opening round. Fillmore Central is the #4 seed and will meet #5 Minden in round one. All Broken Bow matches from the state duals tournament will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
Burwell has qualified for the Class D state dual tournament. Burwell is the #4 seed and will face Stanton in the opening round. The Longhorns will be making their 7th appearance at state duals. Burwell was the Class D state duals champion in 2018 and has had runner up finishes in 2017, 2019, and 2020. Other opening round duals in the Class D tournament will include #1 Sutherland vs Plainview ; #2 Aquinas Catholic of David City vs Neligh-Oakdale ; and #3 Ravenna vs Loomis.
Cozad qualified for the Class B state dual tournament. The Haymakers return to state duals after making their first appearance in the tournament last year. Cozad is the #2 seed and will open the tournament against Beatrice. Other Class B opening round duals include #1 Waverly vs York ; #3 Skutt Catholic vs Blair ; and #4 Gering vs Schuyler.
In Class A, the top seed is Millard South who will face Norfolk in the opening round. Other opening round duals in Class A will include #2 Millard West vs Columbus ; #3 Grand Island vs Omaha Bryan ; #4 Kearney vs Lincoln East.
